Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Approve the First Amendment to the Revocable License with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service at 135 NW 5th Avenue for an extension of the Termination Date to June 11, 2024.

Body

Background:

On January 5, 2023, the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) entered into a Revocable License Agreement (“Agreement”) with Danny Mesidort d/b/a Jackson Hewitt Tax Service (formerly known as Factual Multi Services, LLC) (Licensee) which authorized the Licensee to utilize the premises located at 135 NW 5th Avenue for business services associated with financial planning, tax preparation, and general business.  The compensation amount in the Agreement is One Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Five and 75/100 Dollars ($1,495.75) per month.  The Agreement has a Termination Date of July 11, 2023.

The Licensee is requesting that the CRA extend the Agreement for an additional eleven months or until June 11, 2024 to allow the Licensee additional time to relocate.

At this time, the First Amendment to the Revocable License with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service at 135 NW 5th Avenue, to extend the Termination Date to June 11, 2024, is before the CRA Board for approval.
